Pieters Kaas BV started on 3 May 1990 in Huizen and was founded by Pieter van der Poel.
Pieter started on his own in a small warehouse on the Driftweg. He traded mainly in whole cheeses. The work was done with one employee and simple machines. The business grew, and moved to the Middenweg in Huizen. Specializing and processing cheese turned out to be a good move, as Pieters Kaas kept on growing.It moved in 1994 to the Ambachtsweg in Huizen.
Now it is 2010, and around 30 employees work at Pieters Kaas. The company is certified to supply sliced ecological cheese, with Skal, BRC, HACCP, Kosher and Halal certification. Every square metre in our building has been put to use. That’s why we had to look for a new site with sufficient growth potential for the coming years.
Casper and Stefan van der Poel – both sons of Pieter – are now involved fulltime with the business. That makes Pieters Kaas a family business with a firm foundation for the future!
